Synopsis
Milo Kane wakes up able to calculate the exact dollar cost of every action he witnesses, from a car chase to a kiss. What begins as a party trick for his indie film crew turns lethal when he prices a real murder caught on set and realizes the studio already has the number in their budget. As his gift spreads online, Milo is chased through backlots and soundstages by executives who want his calculator and by artists who want him silenced before the true price of dreams is revealed.
The story
Milo, a burned-out Hollywood accountant, discovers his power during a chaotic indie shoot and turns it into a viral consulting business for directors; a studio offer arrives with a six-figure NDA.
Milo prices an on-set death and uncovers a slush fund that turns accidents into tax write-offs; allies betray him, chases erupt across backlots, and his calculations begin costing him his sanity and relationships.
In a live-broadcast finale, Milo prices the entire industry on camera, exposes the conspiracy, then chooses poverty over power by deleting his own ability, leaving audiences to wonder what their favorite scenes truly cost.

INT. SOUNDSTAGE - NIGHT A wrecked car smolders under klieg lights. DIRECTOR (50s) yells cut. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR checks his phone. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Hey @grok how much would this scene cost in real life? MILO KANE (34, rumpled suit) stands apart, eyes glassy. Numbers flood his vision: $47,800 in crushed metal, $12,300 in overtime burns, $2.4 million in liability if the stunt driver’s spine snaps. MILO (quiet) One point eight seven million. Plus the lawsuit when the driver wakes up paralyzed. Silence. The crew stares. The director grins like he just found oil. DIRECTOR Print it. We’ll call it method.
