Synopsis

In sunlit suburbia, rebellious teen Artie turns his bedroom into a secret dojo, swinging a stolen glowing katana that refuses to cooperate. Every failed strike triggers pratfalls, frantic calls to off-screen uncle Arnie, and near-misses with the furniture—until purple lightning finally erupts, transforming clumsiness into raw potential. As word spreads of the blade's power, Artie attracts a rival collector and unexpected allies, balancing high school awkwardness with backyard battles that threaten to expose his secret. The katana demands discipline he lacks, pushing him to confront his absent family and reckless impulses. The climax erupts when Artie must choose between selling the sword for quick cash or wielding it to protect his neighborhood, proving that true edge comes from control, not chaos.

The story

Act I

Act III

Artie confronts his rival in a furniture-destroying showdown, learning control from Arnie's final lesson. He saves his home and chooses growth over easy escape, blade finally obedient.

INT. SUNLIT SUBURBAN BEDROOM - DAY

Posters of anime heroes peel from walls. A lanky 16-year-old, ARTIE, grips a stolen glowing KATANA, barefoot on carpet. He swings wildly. The blade misses a lamp by inches.

ARTIE
Come on, ignite already!

He slips, crashes into a beanbag. Phone on speaker.

UNCLE ARNIE (V.O.)
Grip lower, kid. You're not chopping wood.

Artie resets, swings again. The blade flickers purple. He yelps, drops it. It bounces harmlessly. He dives to catch it before it dents the dresser.

ARTIE
(into phone)
It's fighting me, Arnie! Mom's gonna kill me if this thing scratches anything.

Lightning crackles faintly along the edge. Artie freezes, eyes wide with terrified awe.
